How AI generates replies

When you use AI to compose or suggest a reply, Auxx.ai gathers context from multiple sources:

  1. Conversation history — The last several messages in the thread, so AI understands the full context
  2. Knowledge base — Articles and documents you've added to your datasets
  3. Shopify data — Customer profiles, order details, and product information from connected stores
  4. Custom fields — Any structured data attached to the contact or ticket

The AI combines this context with your request and generates a response using your configured AI model. You always review and edit the draft before sending.

AI in the inbox

When viewing a conversation, AI tools are available in the reply composer:

  • AI compose — Generate a full reply based on the conversation
  • AI rewrite — Select text and choose an operation (rewrite, tone, translate, grammar, expand, shorten)

All AI-generated content appears as a draft — you have full control to edit, approve, or discard before sending.

AI in workflows

Workflows can include AI nodes that automatically process incoming messages:

  • Generate responses — Draft replies using AI and conversation context
  • Classify messages — Categorize incoming messages by topic or intent
  • Extract data — Pull structured information from unstructured text
  • Make decisions — Route conversations based on AI analysis

Combined with approval nodes, you can build human-in-the-loop automations where AI drafts a reply and a team member approves it before sending.

Usage and quotas

AI usage is tracked per organization. Your plan determines how many AI tokens you can use per month:

  • Free tier — Limited system credits
  • Paid tiers — Monthly credit allowance based on plan level

You can view your usage in Settings > AI Models. If you bring your own API keys, usage counts against your provider account instead of Auxx.ai credits.
