Task assignment
Assign tasks to team members, set deadlines and priorities, and link tasks to contacts, tickets, and other records.
Tasks can be assigned to one or more team members and linked to any record in your workspace.
Assign team members
There are two ways to assign a task:
@mention in the title
Type @ followed by a team member's name in the task title. They are automatically added as an assignee. You can mention multiple members.
Assignee button
Click the Assignee button in the create/edit dialog to open the member picker. Select one or more team members from the list.
Assigned members appear as avatars on the task row in the task list.
Set a deadline
Smart date detection
The fastest way to set a deadline is to write it naturally in the task title:
- "Call client tomorrow about the proposal" → deadline set to tomorrow
- "Send report by next Friday" → deadline set to next Friday
- "Review PR in 3 days" → deadline set to 3 days from now
- "Plan sprint end of month" → deadline set to the last day of the month
The parser recognizes dozens of patterns including written numbers ("in two weeks"), weekday names ("this Wednesday"), and informal expressions ("asap", "soon", "later").
Date picker
Click the Due date button in the task dialog to open the date picker. Select a specific date and optionally a time.
Once you manually pick a date, the auto-detection from the title is disabled for that task. Click the X on the date chip to clear the deadline entirely.
Set a priority
Tasks support three priority levels:
| Priority | Use for |
|---|---|
| High | Urgent items that need immediate attention |
| Medium | Important but not time-critical |
| Low | Nice-to-have, can wait |
Priority is optional. Tasks without a priority are treated as unranked.
Link to records
Click Link record in the task dialog to connect the task to one or more records. You can link to:
- Contacts — Customer records
- Tickets — Support tickets
- Custom entities — Any custom record type in your workspace
Linked records appear as badges on the task row in the global task list. When viewing a record's Tasks tab, only tasks linked to that specific record are shown.
Create tasks from a record
Open any record's detail view and go to the Tasks tab. Click Create to create a new task that is automatically linked to that record.
This is useful for tracking follow-ups — for example, creating a task "Send invoice" directly from a contact's profile.
